Half Gourd (Nzele)	Function: Ceremonial



Traditionally made by an old woman and used during weddings to serve ugali and mweli for the bride and groom. The decorated half gourd was used by girls of the subgroup Kambe during their marriage ceremony. The gourd was decorated with cowrie shells (Nguto) yellow and white beads and chain made by a craftsman.		Zoom in...
